Hearing aids can be a transition, that’s why at Atlanta ENT we want you to be comfortable with your hearing aids and to feel knowledgeable about your hearing loss. We work with all hearing aid manufacturers, so you can have more options to choose from. We want to perfectly fit each individual patient, and having access to all the different brands of hearing aids allows us to better serve you.
When recommending a hearing aid, we always take into consideration your type of hearing loss, the degree of hearing loss (is it mild or profound), and your lifestyle. During your hearing aid consultation we will go over different hearing aid options, and based off those three factors our audiologist will make a recommendation. However, the type of hearing aid you want is entirely up to you as long as it properly addresses your hearing loss. We understand if you already wear hearing aids and want to stay with the same manufacturer because you are comfortable with them. That’s why we carry hearing aids from every manufacturer, so we can offer you the best possible fit for your lifestyle and needs. Our audiologist maintains relationships with all the manufacturers so we can order any hearing aid you need.
We understand hearing aids are an investment, so we will always consider your financial concerns. We also understand how the hearing aid looks is important to you as well. We will go over all of the options that are aesthetically pleasing for you, address your hearing loss, and are within your budget. We offer a 30-day trial period on hearing aids so you can test whether they are the perfect fit for you. We want you to feel comfortable with your hearing aids, and it takes two weeks for the brain to adjust to hearing aids. By offering a 30-day trial then you are able to adjust to your hearing aids and will know if they are the right ones for you.
The hearing aid fitting appointment usually lasts one hour. We will take that time to show you your hearing aids, how to use them, how to program them, as well as how to clean and check them. If you decide to get Bluetooth hearing aids (hearing aids that utilize Bluetooth connectivity to connect with smartphones, TVs, and more) then we will show you how to connect them to your smartphone and how to install an app to control the volume on them. During your fitting we will also do background noise testing to make sure you can hear in background noise. We encourage you to bring a friend or family member to this appointment so you can hear the sound of their voice and get used to better hearing. We believe in being transparent, and we want to help you keep your ears healthy and to experience an improved quality of life.
